The «Quiet ward» photostory started January 2004 and so it goes on. Maybe its a story for a whole lifetime, or maybe there will be a relief, who knows how long it can be? The photos represent everyday life of the 1st quiet mental patients department of S.Korsakov Clinic of Psychiatry. Some time ago Sergey Esenin stayed here, as well as other well-known historical figures, which I wont mention here. We are not «idiots», but we need these neuroleptics and antidepressants just to be able to live. Once in a half-a-year or once in a year I come here and stay for a preventive treatment. Kind angels pick up and put my brain together piece by piece, and, with the help of the drugs, they place my brain back in its place while I am sleeping or when I am just feeling like being shell-shocked. When I come to stay here, I take my rangefinder «Bessa» camera with a wide-angle lens and some black-and-white films, and take pictures of what gets into the frame.
